In Bollywood, rejecting a film can sometimes change the entire career of an actor, and many popular actresses have experienced this reality. One well-known example is Kangana Ranaut, who reportedly rejected Sultan. Later, the role went to Anushka Sharma and the film became a massive box office hit. Kangana later explained that she was not convinced about the role at that time and wanted to focus on different kinds of characters.

Another famous case is Kareena Kapoor Khan, who rejected Kal Ho Naa Ho. The reason was mainly date issues and creative differences. The role was later played by Preity Zinta, and the film became one of the most loved romantic movies in Bollywood. Interestingly, Kareena has openly said in interviews that she has no regrets because every actor follows their instinct while choosing films.

Deepika Padukone also rejected some big films early in her career due to scheduling conflicts. One such example often discussed is Kick, which later starred Jacqueline Fernandez and turned out to be a blockbuster. At that time, Deepika was already committed to other projects and decided to let go of the film.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan rejected Veer-Zaara because of personal and professional reasons during that phase of her life. The role eventually went to Preity Zinta and became iconic. Even today, many fans feel Aishwarya would have suited the role, but timing played a major role in that decision.

Similarly, Sonam Kapoor reportedly turned down Udta Punjab as she was unsure about the bold subject. The role later went to Alia Bhatt, and her performance received critical appreciation and helped her career grow further.

All these examples clearly show how unpredictable Bollywood is. Sometimes an actress rejects a film thinking it may not work, but it later becomes a blockbuster and changes someone else’s life.
