His parents, Sunil Dutt and Nargis, were legends, and many people in Bollywood still respect him because of that emotional connection. Also, Sanjay Dutt gave some of the most powerful performances in Hindi cinema like Vaastav, Munna Bhai MBBS, and Sadak, which proved his acting talent beyond controversies.

Another reason is that Sanjay Dutt accepted his mistakes and served his jail sentence instead of denying what happened. In Bollywood, people often believe that if someone has paid the price for their actions, they deserve a chance to move on. Many actors and directors have said that Sanjay Dutt was always professional on set despite his personal problems, and this earned him respect within the industry. Bollywood is a close-knit space, and personal relationships matter a lot more than public opinions sometimes.
